Tired of waiting to reunite with my dog back home ๐
I moved in with my boyfriend a couple months ago. We live and hour and a half from my hometown. Back home at my dad's, is my dog Bear. He was originally intended for my little step brother who has lost interest in him because he wants a small dog. My Bear is a 1 year old 60 lb purebred black lab. So my dad and step mom wanted to get rid of him so my brother could have "the dog he wants" and because he is a lot to handle. I mean come on, he's a gigantic puppy what did they expect?? Anyway. I told my parents that I would gladly take Bear. He is such a big sweetie. The problem is, when I moved in with my bf I moved into his apartment that doesn't allow big dogs. The lease is up in December and we're going to be moving on to a rental house, allowing us to have Bear.
Currently, Bear is at home tied on a tie-out in my dad's yard. Very little human contact, extremely dirty without a bath. He even escape a couple weeks ago and spent ELEVEN DAYS in the pound before a neighbor saw his photo on the pound FB page and alerted my parents. They promised me they would check with the pound. Obviously, they didn't. Now they aren't mean to him or anything. They feed him and pet him whenever they go out to feed him but no attention is dedicated to giving him love. It breaks my heart because Bear is so loving. Hugs are his favorite. I can't wait to bring him home with me where he can live in our home and be loved on every second.
I'm not sure what I can do for him until then. We're trying to find a way to wiggle out of the lease early. I don't know what I'm really expecting from this post, I just needed to get out my frustrations about it. Here's my baby. I can't wait to give him an amazing home. โค
