Hey everyone so this is my senior year of high school and I became a finalist to speak at my high school graduation it is now down to me and one other person however we just got told that we will no longer be having a physical graduation not even if we wait till August or if we do separate small graduation ceremonies were we are all 6ft apart all we’re doing now is drive through pick up diploma cover but they still want the competition for graduation speeches is still going on and they said that the winner would just record their speech and they would post and honestly I don’t think I want to do it at that point it seems useless and unnecessary and I feel that most seniors don’t even look at the school website (I don’t) so idk if I should just drop out I haven’t told any of my friends that I tried out for the speech but I told my parents so I feel bad if I just drop out of the competition but honestly I don’t want to re edit my speech and put all that work into to just have it uploaded to a website no one looks at so idk what do you ladies think should I stay in the competition or just drop out.

(Also I just want to say I understand how horrible this pandemic is and I understand y we are not having a graduation I understand all that and I don’t want it to seem like I’m complaining about that and I don’t want to offend anyone I just what constructive input on if I should still work on my graduation speech) ps.
