Breastfeeding journey..nipple shield

My girl would never latch on from birth. It was a struggle. I would attempt every time. Then of course my nipples were so sore and everything that happens at the beginning. I ordered a nipple shield..it took her some time to get use to it and it the meanwhile I pumped..a lot! So she got the hang of the shield and I couldn't leave the house without it. I kept trying to stop using it because I knew lactation consultants said sometimes they don't get enough milk or whatnot. But I knew she was because she kept growing. Sometimes she would hit it off and cry hysterically..at night it would be annoying to keep on, but we kept on going...I'm scared to jinx it but Tuesday, the day after she turned 5 months..she latched on! And she has been since! I was scared she would forget yesterday because I was at work..but nope! It's like she always knew! Soo don't give up, if you are having trouble. And don't let anyone tell you that the baby won't latch after a few months of using shield ..my mom and husband would say it.
