Yesterday was my 39 week appointment and I expressed my concerns about going over 40 weeks (measuring 2 weeks ahead) and the increased risk of still birth/birth complications/shoulder distosia and asked to book an induction for around then. The midwife completely dismissed me saying, “baby is fine right now and trust me you would much rather go into labor naturally on your own”.

1. Exactly, she is fine now! So let’s keep it that way and take her out soon. I have heard too many horror stories of babies being fine and then next morning, their not.

2. Don’t force your personal opinion on me.

3. How dare you just dismiss my concerns.

At 41+1 weeks if baby isn’t here they will then look at induction.

And What the bet they then say, oh you need a csection because baby is too big!

I have been off my Meds for anxiety and depression this pregnancy and my anxiety it sky high right now. But I don’t think I’m being irrational, I think my concerns are valid.
