hey loves! i’ve had really bad cramps and my mom is going to take me to the gyno when i am off of my period, and she says they will have to use instruments in there? i’m a virgin and i’m afraid it will hurt.

I recently had my first pap smear done and I am virgin. It hurt when it was done and it took a minute to adjust and catch my breath when the speculum was expanded. It wasn’t unbearable though. Just a new sensation. It is typically a pretty fast exam and my discomfort ended after the speculum was removed though. You may have some pain or cramps for a while after but everyone is different. Just make sure the physician conducting the exam knows you are nervous and that you are a virgin. They will use the smallest speculum you can and soothe your nerves!

Not for sire if it’ll be different for a virgin but my Pap smears never hurt. It was a little uncomfortable but not painful
