28 weeks & dilated?

Question

Just looking to see if other mommas have ever been dilated this early? I had a baby check up today and told them about this constant cramping I've been having. So, she decided to check my cervix. I'm only 1 cm & she didn't seem too worried about it, but didn't know you can be dilated this early on. She wants to see me back in a week just to monitor me a little bit and make sure it doesn't keep progressing into preterm labor. Just looking for a little advice. Like I said she didn't seem too concerned but still it makes me question.

Thank you ladies. This is actually my 3rd pregnancy and have never had my cervix checked this early to check for dilation, so I never knew if I was at all dilated this early with my other two. She only checked because I told her about the cramping I've been having that won't go away. So I won't stress it too much and just see where we're at next week. 🙂

I was at 1cm at 20 weeks with my first pregnancy. My OB thought I would go really early do my bags were packed at 5 months pregnant. At 24 Weeks I was 1.5cm. At 28 weeks I was about 2-2.5cm. At 32 weeks I was at 3cm. I made it to 36 weeks at 4cm when I went into labor. All four of my kiddos where born at 36 or 37 weeks. My last three pregnancies I started to dilate around 30 weeks like clockwork.

Is this your first pregnancy? You can dilate early and still be fine if it’s 2+ pregnancies because things don’t go back to how they were after giving birth. I wouldn’t be concerned unless you have severe cramping or dilate more at your next visit. My second they said I was 1 cm at 36 weeks but that’s the first time the check you here and they said I was probably 1 cm for a while
