Is this a red flag?

I think that my bf could be the jealous type. He will cover my body when guys walk by. He says he does not like it when guys look at me. He did not want me going in the store one day because the thought that what I was wearing (a dress) would cause guys in the store to look at me. One day I joked about wearing a thong bikini on the beach. It was only a joke I do not even feel comfortable wearing a regular bikini without a cover up. Then he said “no” and demanded that I wear a normal bathing suit. I told him I was kidding. Then he calmed down. When my bf does these things it makes me feel uncomfortable. I was in an abusive relationship where the guy would constantly call be a whore and was controlling about what I wore. My new boyfriend does not treat me badly or call me a whore. He treats me well and thinks that my ex is a jerk.
