Will they induce me?

I live about 50 min from the hospital I will be delivering at and I am so nervous to have my baby at home or in the car on the way. My husband works all day and what if my water breaks when I'm home alone with my 2 year old? I'm just so nervous...I'd rather be induced so that doesnt happen. My first son came so quickly so I'm so scared it will happen again! If I voice my concerns will they choose to induce me or do they only do that for medical reasons?

The hospital I’m booked into is 1hr 30min!
I live very rural. The nearest hospital is 30min but it’s a small country town hospital (and don’t do birthing).
My hope (and ideal plan) is that I have my baby vaginally if it’s possible. If that’s in a car it’s no big deal to me as long as they come out ok! 
I want labour to start naturally so I am intending to decide when to go based on the frequency of contractions. I’m a FTM so it’s not *typically* very fast, but I just don’t know! 🤷‍♀️ 
Depends on your hospital, the one I go to puts my choice as a priority. If this is the way I want to do birth they go along. When I make it in their doors they’ll take it from there no matter where I am!
Talk to your midwife/OB/ whoever is looking after you.

I only live 20-45 min (depending on traffic on a busy highway) from our hospital. My dr has already agreed to induce me if i want as early as 38 weeks, i asked her what she thought and she said sure

I don’t think many doctors like to induce because it can stress out the baby. I had to be induced with my first child because she had a chance of not making it past 38 weeks because the placenta was barely keeping her alive and she came out only 4.11lb, during that her heart rate kept going down so I had to be put on oxygen and it was scary as heck.

I feel like the discomfort from an induction would far outweigh the anxiety of not getting there on time. I’d you listen to your body and pay attention to the signs I’m sure you’d leave with reasonable time to get there

I definitely relate to your anxiety! I have a 2.5 and 1.5 year old. They both were born within thirty minutes of us arriving at the hospital so super fast labors! We live about 35 mins but I’m already worried about making it this time, especially if my husband is at work when I go into labor 😬

I live over an hour from my hospital as well and have been given the okay for induction at 39 weeks (as long as my cervix is favorable). I did labor for 22 hours the first time around but because of my history of high risk (just hypertension, no pre-e with either pregnancies) I can only see this doctor. I have a 2 year old and limited family/friend help so it’s the best option and I pray my cervix behaves itself lol

I also live about an hour from the hospital and will be home with a 21 month old. My doctor and I have already planned for me to be induced at 39 weeks. I only pushed for 45 min with my first and he says the second usually comes faster. I’m still nervous for if I go into labor before that so I will have everything packed for the hospital and my first son and in the car so I don’t have to run around the house getting everything ready. I can just go straight to the hospital.

Have you thought about having a home birth? 
I know it’s kind of doing exactly what your worried about. But as you labour quickly it might be the least stressful option. Imagine that when you go into labor all you have to do is make a phone call and all the help and midwives could come to you? It would take out your big concern about giving birth in route, and if you prepared for it even just as an alternative it might make you feel more relaxed?

I was told most people go in to labour at night (I did) so your husband would be around hopefully

I think the average time for labor is like 12 hours or something, so you’ll probably have plenty of time
