Bleeding after copper IUD

Hi everyone.

I recently got my copper iud inserted (May 12th was when I got it). For about a week, everything was normal. I was crampy, but other than that everything was pretty normal. Well about a week in, I started bleeding. Not spotting—I mean like consistent, medium/heavy flow bleeding. I didn’t think much of it at first. The cramps are slowly starting to subside, but the bleeding is still pretty consistent.

I knew spotting was normal, but no one ever said anything about this kind of bleeding?

I’m not supposed to have my period for another 2 days. I’m still taking my pill too, because my doctor told me I could for my skin (I had really bad acne before I got on the pill).

Has anyone else experienced this? Did it go away?
