Contractions started on the 17th of May around 2 a.m. space between 10 minutes and 80 minutes very low down none on the top of my abdomen I've been suffering with back pain for several months with multiple hospital admissions so I wasn't even thinking much about the pain of labour I went back to sleep until around 6 a.m. when the pains were still very far apart but getting more intense I took some paracetamol and just cracked on with the day got the kids are ready to go out out went for a walk they were still 10 minutes apart but I could cope around 2 p.m. I text the Independent midwife to tell her that my contractions were starting to get a bit painful she told me to fill the pool and getting it she arrived at my house at 4:30 and text me as I was concerned that I wasn't actually in labour as they were so far apart and I didn't feel like I was in labour I was actually 6 centimetres and baby was quite low so she said we are going to have a baby today the pool was amazing on my back instantly I stayed in there for the next 4 hours up to about 8:30 when my back pain was so intense I was finding it very hard to cope with the surges the pain in my back was continuous which we knew it might be as I have have a prolapsed disc in S1 and S1 nerve compression with L5 prolapse as well as the pain is very very bad it got to the point where I was too frightened that I would not be able to push so I asked if I could go into hospital we tried to get me into the car which was impossible so they call an ambulance ambulance arrived pretty quick 8 minutes in the ambulance I gave birth on the side of the road to massive humongous pieces the urge to push was insane the ring of fire was very very painful baby come out Op Sunnyside up back to back the worst possible position for her to be in but I managed to deliver her on to my test with my independent midwife free ambulance crew and my husband it was still very very positive experience for me all I see is positivity as they are pushed a sectional me continually sits around 20 weeks I had a section with my first be back with my second and I'm at the chief another vbac with a severe spinal problem and baby being back to back I had no stitches does one tiny graze quite low down the only thing I'm suffering with now two weeks on is I feel bruised inside down there if that makes sense.. it's maybe look at birth totally differently having a positive birth experience has changed me and empowered me and now I feel like I need to empower more we really did have the perfect first even though it was in a back of an ambulance baby Ella is absolutely gorgeous and I can't say 100-percent it will be my last but if I do have number for I will definitely be having another independent midwife she was phenomenal x
