Did genetic testing after 20 week scan:(

So there was one calcium spot found on the baby’s heart yesterday at my anatomy scan. The doctor informed me I should get genetic testing for Down syndrome. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Yes, they found those spots on my baby's heart and brain and she didnt neccesarily reccomend to get a blood test but asked if that was something I would want to do. So i did because down syndrome runs in my family. Took about 5 days for the results to get back to me but it turned out okay, they were negative! Hope you get a similar story, and dont be so upset about whatever may happen. You still dont know your results so no need to worry yourself, you cant do anything to change anything so just stay calm and breathe mama. I know it's easier said than done but you got this!

My sisters baby had a calcium spot in her heart. They monitored it and it went away before she was born. Hope everything turns out okay for you and little one ❤️

My baby had an echogenic bowel shown are the anatomy scan. I was tested for Down syndrome, Cystic fibrosis, CMV (infection) and all were negative. This means the marker is either normal for my baby or I had bleeding at one point in my pregnancy. Hope you get the same good news I did!

My first had two holes in her heart found at the 20 week ultrasound, which can be a soft marker for Down Syndrome. We did the test to know. Results came back negative and both holes healed up by 27 weeks in utero.

This is the same situation that happened with my daughter. They noticed a small spot on her heart and had me panicking for 3 weeks while waiting to get into the high risk. Turns out the spot can be normal and ended up being nothing. Try not to worry it’s actually pretty common. Best of luck
