What do I do? *long post!*
Background story
The 3 bedroom townhouse we transferred to, I know the family who lived here before we moved in, they had 3 kids. I remember the girl posting about how the neighbor would constantly call the cops and say they were being too loud, the tv was too loud, etc. I had my second baby, which was a girl this time, so that allowed me to transfer to a 3 bedroom. Well I got the townhouse that the previous girl used to live in with the cop calling neighbor. I know I know, why move into a place if the neighbor gave them issues? Well the townhouse was nice, it was an end house, and I wasn’t going to let a cranky old man stop me for having a 3 bedroom for my family!
We moved in February 27th, 2020 while I was in the hospital having my daughter. My family moved us in, THANK GOD for them! So to make a long story short the neighbor called the cops on us 4 times so far.
1st time: it was 11:30pm my 2.5 year old son was overly tired and I was trying to get him to bed, he was throwing a temper tantrum for 10 min max. Calmed him down and got him to sleep. Hear a knock on our door at midnight, my bf answered. The cops said they got a noise complaint that kids were running and jumping....uhhhh no, my son was in bed crying. Explained to the cop the situation, he didn’t hear any noise (duh) and left.
2nd time: my kids were asleep and my bf was upstairs in our sons room putting my sons clothes away. Hear a knock on my door, police said they got a noise complaint that kids were running and screaming ..... TF! My kids have been asleep for 2 hours lmao. Cop said he heard nothing and left.
3rd time: cops stood outside, didn’t knock, because he said (fourth time) he didn’t hear anything.
4th time: my kids were asleep, my bf was watching a movie and I was making some chicken wings around 11:00pm. Hear a knock on the door. Cop asked if he could come in, said he got a noise complaint their was banging in the house - once again, TF!? I’m cooking and my bf is on the couch watching a movie with the volume down low as hell. I explained to the cop the situation, he was super nice and was saying how we couldn’t control if a child cried or not (duh!)
I spoke to the rental office, apparently this neighbor had told the office he heard multiple male voices in my house and I was having parties. HOLDDDDDD UP! I have 2 kids and we have just been in quarantine for 2 fucking months 🙄🙄 the lady at the rental office told him I have two kids, so he’s going to hear noise and basically just get over it!
I feel like this neighbor is honestly harassing us for no reason! Every little noise he’s calling the police. I told the cop I’m sure I’ll be seeing him again because he’s gonna call again. My question is, should I, or can I, press harassment charges next time this guy calls the police on us for false information? I don’t want to waste my time doing so if nothing will come about it, but I also don’t want to deal with this for the rest of my life!
I would speak to him directly, but he avoids us at all costs when he sees us!
