I need help!!! Does he like me or not?

Okay, so I have this friend and we are pretty good friends you know. He jumps from girl to girl a lot, but we have been together before too. It didn’t last because my family was very pushy and told me to break up with him. So, I did because they would say mean things about him, and I thought I was protecting him because they were SO mean to him. Anyways, I still have feelings for him, and he doesn’t know. But he said something yesterday that made me think maybe he likes me. He said, “what would you do if I kissed you out of the blue? Would you be mad? Would you hit me? Or would you be happy?” I kind of beat around the bush a little. But in the end I told him I’d probably be happy. I’m just confused. It’s not him, it’s me. I can’t pick up the signs I swear I can’t. 😂 so, can anyone tell me...does he like me? Does he not? We hang out a lot. We laugh together and play sports together. And he’s been staying single since we broke up soooo....what does it mean?!? 😣 he makes fun of me a lot and teases me but I know he doesn’t mean it. Does he likes me orrrr....
