Wake peaceful post-boob babe to burp?

Sometimes my newborn is so peaceful having fallen asleep skin to skin on the Boppy after I feed him that I’m hesitant to wake him to burp. Should I always wake him to burp?

Oh I always struggle with this!  A lot of times I don’t wake🤪🤷🏼‍♀️

Just lift him onto your shoulder and burp him in his sleep. By being upright they’ll often burp without much help

Nope. I never did and neither of my babies had any trouble from it. A lot of times if baby has a good latch, they don't swallow air and don't really need to be burped. Burps are a bigger deal with a bad latch or bottle feeding.

In the day I always burp. I don’t nurse to sleep either. At night I do nurse right before bed and if she’s asleep, I don’t burp her
