Newborn clothes / why bother?!

Hi Moms- ftm here! My 3 week old skin to skin feeds and needs his diaper changed so many times that every time I do put an outfit in him rather than diaper and swaddle or blanky I think why the heck did I go this?! It’s going to come off in an hour or so anyway. Is this how others feel? I’m about to throw in the towel and stick Em with what’s easy as long as he’s warm

My daughters a month old and only wears clothes when we leave the house or she meets family. She spend most of her time skin-to-skin with me.

Omg yes this!! I envisioned I’d put my baby in cute outfits every day and nope that lasted one day 😂 he is either naked in a diaper when it’s warm out or a long sleeve onesie that’s easy to change diapers in. My mom always told me not to bother buying a bunch of cute newborn clothes and I should have listened lol

My 5 day old is super wiggly and like to stick his fingers in his eyes. So I find the long sleeved onsies with the fold over mitten things super helpful. Other than that he's on my bare chest in a diaper most of the day.

I bought 0-3 month cotton gowns (they had elastic at the bottom, to keep them from rolling or sliding) for my LO and he basically lived in them until he grew out of them. Just slide it up for diaper changes and then slide back down when done. Seriously one of my favorite purchases and I got them unisex (we didn't know what we we're having) so they are all ready when we have #2! There are some cute options on amazon. :) I honestly hardly used snaps with him before he started rolling over.

I did zip up sleepers because I like to be dressed lol I think it is more comfortable... but yes it can be hard to constantly change them lol

Go with what’s easy. I went through my newborn -3m clothes and got rid of anything with snaps cause I didn’t like using them with my daughter last year.. I’m expecting in September.

My first I just got by doing whatever it took. But I had a little baby girl my second time around and I love to see her in cute clothes, so it’s worth it to me 😍. I got her a little Guns N’ Roses tshirt/jeans outfit and it was the very first thing I ever put her in, and she wore a bow with her first ever sleeper in the hospital.
