Any people with mutly languages in family.

So my husband doesn't speak much English. My family doesnt speak any of his language. I speak both.

My question is how do I teach a baby both languages. With my step daughter I met him when she was 6 months. Him and his previous wife split before baby was born due to her not knowing if the baby was his .. she cheated. We did DNA ( we knew she was she looks like him) he is the daddy.

We taught her just thier language first and then now that she is 3 she is learning English because she needs to go to school but now she will be fluent in both. My issue is , it worked well with her because me and her dad speak it and her mother and all of her family does as well.

My family will not understand. I'm torn. Because by no means do I want my child to not know its paternal language. Which will limit thier communication with him and his entire family, but I also dont want the baby to lack communication with my family either.

I need help. I'm so confused right now... in still early. I'm only 3 months going into 4 but my dad asked me how we planned on doing this and I was immediately torn bc my biggest thing is communication with me and father. I didnt think about grandparents and aunts.

Before I get the negative comment of how he lives here and doesnt speak much English. He works with people who speak his language and I guess I hinder him at home because I speak his language as well. So he doesnt have the opportunity to speak English due to him not being around English speaking people.

Now he can order food and ask for help. He can ask me what I want to eat or drink and he does speak enough but not enough to carry on a conversation.
