How much is too much? Wedding registry

Question

Hello! So my fiancé and I are getting married, (possibly at the end of the year) and we’ve been working on our registry, through Amazon. 
We don’t really have expensive tastes so the bulk of things are under 50$, and honestly I’ve been trying to add a few more expensive things to even if out. 
I’m not trying to do anything outrageous, and at least keep it in a reasonable budget for what the item is. (i.e. There’s no reason for a $300 bookcase or $600 dresser. If I can’t find them at $150 or $200 max they’re off the registry) 
But I’ve got a problem with finding tables😪
I’ve found ones under $200, they are for 4 people with chairs. 
This is fine but I was hoping for a 6 person table, 1) because we already have a toddler and 2) so that when we have company we can fit everyone and don’t have to send anyone to the coffee table. The only ones I find are still around $350-400 the cheapest. 
I’m mostly asking how much is too much to ask for on a 6 person table? 
Should I just scrap the whole thing and we’ll try to get it ourselves?

I personally think a table is a little much.  I would leave it off the registry and purchase on your own.

In my own opinion, large purchases like that are your own responsibility. If price is an issue then get something used for a little while until you can afford what you want.

Here’s what I learned working at a Babies R Us from customers and employees. Put that expensive stuff on the registry....no you probably won’t get those items BUT people see you need them so you’ll still get those gift cards. Plus once you’re wedding day passes you’ll have access to a coupon for 15% off remaining registry items so you can get that expensive table at a discount. However it won’t work on the item unless it’s on the registry already.

Personally we get our expensive home items through auctions. We have gotten so many nice and even brand new things for wayyyyyy less than half the price you’d pay in the store. A lot of them you can strip and stain or paint how you want too! 
Just another option to think about. We’re all about saving money where and when we can lol

Can you not just ask for Amazon vouchers then people can spend an amount they are happy with and you can put your vouchers together and get a table you want rather than just settling for one you’re not 100% on or finding other “stuff” just to put it on your registry?

If you are wanting a certain item I would limit what you have on your registry so that people will get you gift cards or money for the table instead.

Put whatever you want on there. Having a range of options is ideal. Some registries have an option for a group of people to contribute to the larger items so it’s more manageable for everyone. But who knows, maybe someone will be looking to spend that on something you need. I paid $200 for super slick camping chairs on one of our friends registries, and the same for a wine decanter for another.

Someone else mentioned to put it on so people could get you gift cards, etc. I agree! Also, sometimes people like to go in on gifts together. For example, I know bridesmaids who went in on a really nice tv for the bride and groom. I also know friends who went in on a really nice stroller system for a mommy.

I would leave it off the registry and use the cash from the cards you’ll get to buy the 6 person table you want yourself. The only way I would actually put it on the registry is if you get a discount for completing your registry at the end if no one gets it for you, then you’ll save yourself money in the end when you purchase it with your monetary wedding gifts.
