Vincent/Vince do not go well with our last name, but I love the nickname Vinny.

My nephews middle name is Vincent and he goes by Vinny as a nickname, is that an option? Also have you thought of Vincenzo or Calvin as a first name option?

Its not weird at all. I feel like if that's what you're going to call them why not just make that their name? Lol. Like everyone in my life calls me nikki and my parents have even said they sometimes wish they had just named me that lol. Or I went to school with a Bobby and that was his actual first name. Nothing weird to me.

It’s not my favorite thing to use an obvious nickname as a first name. But ultimately he’s your kid and you can choose whatever name you like best! I bet you’ll have to explain his real full name is Vinny and not Vincent more than you’d like but if you’re ok with that then do it! 
I named my kiddo an uncommon name with a slightly nonstandard pronunciation so I have to correct people all the time. I knew that would be the case when I chose her name and i was ok with that. I LOVE my daughters name and i don’t regret it at all.
