NIPT/NT Scan- OK to forgo?

Question

I’m going cross-eyed reading up on NIPT and NT scans. I am considered “low risk” but feel bad canceling both my NIPT and NT scan. Insurance doesn’t cover either. I like the idea of checking all the boxes and following my little list of “to do”s but I also can see us using those extra $$$ towards the baby in other ways.
Did anyone forgo both? Thanks!

We literally only did NIPT to find out gender. It was cheaper for us than doing sneak peek clinical which we were going to do. If it would have been more, we would have skipped it since I’m not worried about what the “abnormalities” would be. Either way this baby is being carried to term and loved fully so there’s no real reason for me to do it other than being such a planner I wanted to find out gender early.

Save the stress don’t get it. With my daughter the test came back high percentage of having trisomy 21 and spina bifida. Baby was 100 percent fine no genetic abnormalities but I STRESSED so hard because of it.

I skipped with my first because it wasn’t covered. I did it with my second and third because I had new insurance and it covered but I would have opted out if it hadn’t been covered.

We aren’t doing this test. We didn’t do it with for our first and now we aren’t doing it with our second.

My dr doesn’t even offer the NIPT test. She waits until after 16 weeks and I can get the I think it’s called the afp test which is the same thing as the NiPT.

I’m 36 almost 37 and I’m not doing the testing because it would cost at least $1000 out of pocket.

With my first pregnancies I skipped all extra testing only did sugar test and had ultrasound. Oh reason I had the NIPT this pregnancy is because of 4 miscarriages and want to know if this one is healthy. If you don't want to know it's no big deal to skip!!
