Should I tell my employer or wait?

Currently 16+4 and had a second trimester loss with my last pregnancy. My anatomy scan is in two weeks. Should I tell my employer now or wait until the scan? I am working from home so they have no clue of my pregnancy.
I am worried that waiting that long to tell them may look bad on my part.

I had to tell my boss at 3w6d in order to work from home during the pandemic (I was so uncomfortable telling anyone before 12 weeks, even my mom, but I was more worried about covid). 
If I hadn’t already told her, I’d be telling my boss after the 20week scan. My employer only requires 30 days notice (if possible) for parental leave, so there’d be no rush. Maybe check the policies at your work?

It’s a personal decision on when you want to tell your employer. If you’re more comfortable waiting, it’s not going to make that big of a difference. I waited until about 16 weeks to tell my employer and felt guilty hiding it. But that is only because I told them at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy. Personally, just three weeks difference, I would wait.

I’m waiting until my anatomy scan because I’m working from home and no one sees me. If you’re in the US I’m pretty sure it’s against some employee laws to fire you or reprimand you because you’re pregnant regardless when you tell them.

Look up laws, legally in the states you only have to give 30 days notice. I waited till I was 24 weeks pregnant with my last. They were cool with it, very surprised.

Since you’re working from home it doesn’t really matter right now whether your employer knows or not, but when you actually go back to work I’d definitely let them know!

I’m in the same boat, 17 weeks. I think I’m going to wait until 20 weeks after my anatomy scan. We probably aren’t going back to the office until EARLIEST September, but I feel like I should give them a heads up as at least half our office is currently furloughed so it could be a reason to bring someone back. I think all previous courtesy rules are out the window during quarantine!

I think it’s entirely up to you and what you feel comfortable with. I’d check to see if there are any company policies about disclosing pregnancy. I was going to wait to tell my principal until the end of the summer, but I had to go in last week to clean my room so I told her then (I have a noticeable bump).

I would tell them now. My boss got mad that I told some coworkers before him at 10 weeks. He heard about it from my supervisor. So I ended up telling him at 12 weeks and it was very uncomfortable.

I'm on the same boat. I already told my current boss as we had to report to work last week. I just got promoted and my new boss doesn't know yet. I don't think I will tell him until I have to report to him though.

Omg I’m 17 weeks tomorrow and in the same boat. I think I’m waiting til my 20 week scan also which is 7/1. I also work from home so nobody will know. That gives them 4 months. I have a back up so it’s not like they have to train anyone.
