Okay so this is my second baby and everything I've read says subsequent babies don't engage until soon before labour (whereas first babies can be engaged for weeks). For this reason I wasn't expecting to be engaged at all (I'm 37 weeks), my midwife doesn't think I'll see my due date and actually brought my 39 week appointment forward to 38 weeks. I do not want to give birth before 38 weeks, so I'm wondering how long second/third/etc time mothers were engaged for before going into labour? Should I take things easy to avoid encouraging labour? If i go into labour tomorrow I won't have anyone to watch my son for me and will have to get an ambulance to hospital 😱
