I’m 40 + 2 and had my prenatal check up yesterday. I was only 1 cm dilated, but my midwife says that’s okay and we still have time. With the threat of induction looming, I also opted for a membrane sweep at the time of my appointment to hopefully stimulate natural labor spontaneously. Though, it’s been 24 hours and I’ve noticed nothing except for post-procedural spotting. I have a cervical catheter induction scheduled for 41+1 with a follow up medicine induction scheduled 12 hours later if my body isn’t progressing. I am attached to the idea of trying to birth naturally and am looking for words of encouragement from folks who are in a similar place and particularly from folks who’ve been induced and we’re still able to have their natural birth experience.
