Would you do it?

My husband and I bought a Turn Key Home 12 months ago. The only feature I wasn’t keen on was the floor tiling. It’s not bad, I just don’t like tiles except for in wet areas. Everything else about the house ticked all the boxes. We said we’d wait 12 months and put money aside for laminate floors in the hall, kitchen, dinning & family room. 12 months has passed and now we’ve got quotes which are all working out to be $1500 more than what we expected. We have the money, but now my husband says he likes the tiles and my Mother and two of my friends think it’s mad to spend that kind of money on a floor that are only 12 months old. Now I’m second guessing myself and I really don’t know what to do. Do you think it’s too frivolous to spend the money on such things or it’s always been the plan so we should go ahead?
