Sleeping through the night ?

Hi Mommas! My LO will be 6 months in a week and still isn’t sleeping through the night... he wakes up around 1 or so for a little bit of milk then around 4 for some milk... normal? Or should he be sleeping through the night already ?

All babies are different. Some babies wake because they truly are hungry, some babies wake because they just want the comfort, some babies wake because they can self soothe. I mean the list goes on haha. Our daughter was waking multiple times a night just a few weeks ago. It wasn’t for food (though I almost wish it was because a quick feed and back to sleep would have been easier). She would wake looking for her pacifier and she’d just cry. But the issue was you’d go give her the pacifier and 2 seconds later she was crying again because she either pulled the pacifier out or it fell out. We were up multiple times every hour to give it to her. I finally had enough. So we sleep trained her and now she’s sleeping through the night and if she wakes she fusses for a few minutes and she’s back to sleep. You might want to try and figure out if your baby is waking due to actually being hungry or if it’s out of habit now at this point and he just wants the comfort to get back to sleep.

My daughter turns 6 months on Friday and is on her 3rd night in a row of sleeping through the night. Every child is different. Our middle son didn’t sleep through the night until her was 3 years old. Turns out he has sleep apnea and terrible night terrors. One time he was sleep walking and got lost in his closet. He was so afraid and lost.

My oldest was exactly like that! She didn’t start sleeping through the night till she was 9m+ even then it’s more she just learned how to self soothe when she woke up. Even then till she was a little over one sometimes she just wanted a drink and by that point she could hold a cup by herself. She honestly has never been a great sleeper. She’s 20 months now and last night was up from like 12-1 it’s just she can put herself to sleep. 
My son is completely different he can actually sleep through the night.

Mine's on the same schedule! I've been feeding her more throughout the day + a super long feed before bed and at 1am. Seems to work unless she's having a growth spurt.

I’m always curious on what others consider “sleeping through The night” is. My lo does about 8 hours. But that means he wakes up at 4am. (Which works for me since I wake up at 3:30am.)

I used to be the same, I would get with every time time I heard a little noise to feed, and then I decided to see if he would fall back asleep on his own and he did. I would only get up to feed if he doesn't fall back asleep. I still usually wake up around 3/4 to feed.

No baby is the same but your baby could be just needing more calories maybe that why they keep needing feeds on the night but my baby has also started waking up more in the night but I know it’s because of teething 😕
