At baby’s 1 year appointment last month she had fluid on both ears. She was given antibiotics. A few days later baby had a fever of 102 so we took her to the doctor her fluid turned into “the worst infection the doctor has seen” she was given an antibiotic shot and new antibiotics. We had a follow up the next week and the infection in her right ear was 50% better but the left ear was still severe. More antibiotics. We had a follow up again today and there is still fluid on both of babies ears... she prescribed amoxicillin for 30 days. Has anyone ever heard of taking it that long?? Baby is still in pain and not sleeping well at night. To go to the ENT I need a referral from the pediatrician for the insurance to cover it. I’ve asked her at every appointment and she says it’s not that bad yet or she thinks it’ll get better on it’s own.
