Is it possible to no longer have the benefits with your fwb and just be friends?

Is it weird to go from fwb to strictly just friends? Anyone done it before and what’s the dynamic like with the other person you were previously fwb with.

My dilemma is honestly I like making out with them and just touching them, if we’re just friends it can’t really happen and I don’t know if we were to hang out that’s all I’d think about. Like the sex isn’t a big thing for be just physical touch.
