NIPT our of pocket?

Anyone pay out of pocket for an NIPT? My husband and I want one even if our nuchal transparency ultrasound doesn’t show anything negative next week. Our insurance won’t cover it. I’m just preparing myself for it. Costs and recommended companies?

Sooo its billed to insurance at about $2,000 depending on where your at, most self pay price is around 800-1,000. So if you have no indication of needing it and are not at risk i wouldnt spend the money on it

Generally your OB office is contracted with a specific company. The OB office I work for uses Progenity and it’s guaranteed no more than $380 out of pocket.

Mine was through NxGen and it was cheaper to pay out of pocket vs. billing my insurance (Aetna). I haven’t met my deductible yet, so with insurance it would cost upwards of $900 and with out of pocket it’s $199, and I can make monthly payments of at least $20/month with no interest if I can’t pay it all at once.

I did mine through progenity. They charged my insurance $795. When I got my test results they had something in the fine print saying if your bill is over $295 to contact them to get it reduced, so I’m assuming if your insurance doesn’t cover it, they would reduce the cost down to $295.

I had mine through invitae and it was covered by insurance but they also offer a $99 self pay on their website if insurance doesn’t cover it

I went through Natera, what my doctor’s office used. I called the company and asked them for their self pay pricing which was like $250, then I saw online they have a compassionate care program so I asked for that application and they approved it based on income. Mine ended up being free but I’ve heard others say they got it for $99

My hospital offered a payment plan..even no downpayment..they ended up not even producing i.g a bill for my partner who was the only one not insured ;)
