Switching Providers???
Hey everyone! So I had my son about nine months ago, and for my entire pregnancy I had the same provider, a group of midwives. They don’t accept insurance, and just have a down payment of $500 and then after you give birth, you compensate them for whatever insurance won’t cover. My mom has been with them for years and has had about five kids with them, and she never had to pay more than the initial $500. I am covered under their insurance, but the midwives has to charge me almost $2,000 because insurance refuses to cover it! Now I am not sure if I can afford to go to them again. Another downside to using a midwife is that I only got one ultrasound, the 20 week anatomy scan, and I’d really love to have more of those next time around. Can anyone tell me if they went to an OB/GYN or a midwife, how much it cost them, and how many ultrasounds they got? Any input as to whether I should go back to them again (I loved the people), or if I should seek out an OB/GYN?
