Let’s talk #parentshaming •⠀⠀ This is my husband Angelo and me: just 2 big people, doing our best to raise 2 (soon 3) little people. •⠀⠀ As many of you know, yesterday I got “ #momshame “ on Instagram for the first time. ⠀⠀ • First, I want to start by thanking EVERYONE who reached out to me or shared their own story in support. While I’d say the shaming was “mild” the principle of it never is. ⠀⠀ It got me thinking: I’m confident in my parenting, I have an AMAZING support system of family and friends and I don’t believe nasty comments like this... but what about the parents who don’t have all of that? What about the most vulnerable among us who receive comments like this on the internet or IRL and are left actually believing the mean and hurtful words?! ⠀⠀ It promoted me to write a blog post (link in bio) about 4 simple tactics I saw moms using yesterday to come together to stand up against injustice. •⠀⠀ Bullying is never okay at any age, and I think that the bully culture among parents is something that doesn’t get talked about enough! •⠀⠀ I hope you can take a peek at the post and takeaway at least one realistic way you can help stand up to parent shaming and help prevent it! •⠀⠀ Parenthood is hard enough! So let’s recognize that just because we all run our ships differently, doesn’t mean we aren’t all sailing the same sea. ⛵️
