Spent Father’s Day away from his kids??

Yesterday on Father’s Day my husband spent the day at his dads house and didn’t come home till 9 o clock at night. I understand having a little break from the kids is nice but for the whole day? On Father’s Day? I just ended up taking my kids to spend the day with my dad instead. Seems kinda weird to me.

I think it's weird. I celebrate mother's day with the people who made me a mother tho 🤷 I get it's his day but I can't imagine just going away ALL DAY. What if they planned something sweet for him? I'd be heartbroken as a child because I always was excited to make crafts for my mom and dad on those holidays 🤷

What’s wrong with the father spending time for himself or doing what he wants for FATHERS day? At first I was gonna have my son for the entire Father’s Day, but my sons father asked to have him over for an hour or two, asked if I wanted to stay, so we all were in the pool, ate food, then we ended up spending his first Father’s Day away from everyone but our son in a hotel room. It’s his day.  Just like Mother’s Day is your day.

If it weren’t for Covid, I would have got a massage and saw a movie on Mother’s Day. I don’t think there’s anything wrong w taking a day for yourself.

I think he should have taken the kids with him. While Father's day is about Father's I feel like it's also special for kids because they get to do special things for their dad and spend a whole day with him.

I think it’s odd but I don’t see anything wrong with it. Me and my son went to church on Father’s Day and then to my parents house for lunch. When we left my parents we came home to eat with my husband and his parents.

I’d find it weird if he spent the day fishing or something with his buddies, but he was literally with his dad. 
WE celebrate Father’s Day and Mother’s Day however that person wants. I would have no problem with this.
