Switching obgyns and Covid

Ka

Hi Ladies,

I am sorry for the long post but I really need your opinions. I am in process of switching to a new obgyn because I don’t like my current doctor’s attitude. I am 19 weeks pregnant (so I am due soon for my anatomy scan and I also have been told at my 16 weeks US that I have VCI-velamentous cord insertion which makes me at a higher risk, so I have no time to wait for appts :)

So today I had my first appt with the new clinic. So when I arrived they of course checked my fever and it showed 100.5 then 100.3 (she checked it twice) and told me that they can’t take me today, and they referred me to go pass the Covid test. So now I am waiting for the hospital to call me and schedule me for the testing.

When I arrived home I checked my fever myself with 2 different thermometers. With one that has to be put under armpit and it showed 96.6 and one that is basal body thermometer used orally also showed 96.9. And I checked with both a couple of times and it showed nothing close to 100, as they told me at the clinic. I really don’t feel sick, and I am kind of worried to go to the hospital to pass the covid testing. But this clinic won’t take me until they receive a report from the hospital that I am negative for covid.

I also have an option to go to a different hospital with a different obgyn, they could take me next week for my first appointment.

What would you do if you were me?

Would you go for covid testing and wait for this clinic to take me?

Or would you go to the different obgyn that can take me next week?

Thank you in advance
