How did you know to drop the second nap?

When the kiddo wouldn't sleep right away or the naps were too brief. The biggest issue is that he wouldn't want an afternoon nap and by 4 o'clock was a monster. So made sense to put the kiddo down for one nap after lunch. We've been doing it for a couple of months now.

His first nap extended longer was the first sign. Then he'd just play in his crib during his second nap time instead of sleeping. The transition has gone well. He wakes up from his second nap between 330-4, goes to bed at 9, and he has been sleeping in, in the mornings until 930-1015 which has felt really good during the weekends!

My son just stopped taking his second nap one day. He would just lay in his crib and babble.
