Is it the doctors decision or yours??

Ni

Sooo I decided to call my doctors office and ask to be pulled from work because it’s honestly too much for me. My contractions are the worst when I’m at work and I keep getting sciatica nerve pain down my legs. Well they responded with, “Um that’s up to your doctor to decide to pull you out early”. First of all, early??? I’m literally about to be 40 weeks in 5 days. I’m already at 3 cm dialated. It’s not like I’m less than 35 weeks just asking to be pulled for the hell of it or some shit.

I work as a health aide at a nursing home so my job involves being a lot on my feet and a lot of heavy lifting. Let me tell you this shit is tiring even if you’re not pregnant. I tried to take a vacation the last week before my due date but my job would not let me. They told me to save it for maternity leave. Makes sense, but at the same time I would like to save my energy and prepare for when my little one decides to arrive.

The clinic told me they will try to get the doctor to sign a note to pull me and call me back. Well I haven’t heard anything and the office is already closed and it’s a Friday so they’ll be closed all weekend and I’m scheduled to work the weekend. This leaves me no choice but to call in for my last 3 days on the schedule which I was trying not to do because mind you I get “points” counted against me for calling in, double points on weekends. But fuck it whatever.

I’m just a little irritated because many of my co workers keep asking me why I’m still working, because their doctor pulled them out right before their 40 week mark without even having to ask or as soon as they started dialating. I’ve also had people tell me all they had to do was ask to be pulled because it was too much for them and they were pulled without a problem a month or two ahead. Seems like my doctor wants me to give birth at work or something 🙄🙄🙄😒
