Why do people hate “gold diggers” so much?

People often call people (mostly women) gold diggers for dating rich older people. They say that they are using there partner for money (which is true). But it is also likely that the older richer partner is using the younger one for reasons that are just as shallow and superficial. These older men (and women) want a young hot person to have sex with and show of to their friends as a status symbol. They most certainly are not dating for “love”. How is that any better than using someone for money? People only judge the younger or more attractive partner and say that the older or richer one is being taken advantage of when in fact they are also using their partner.
