Behind in development

LuLu • 👼🏻🌈 👦🏻 👦🏻 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦mommy too most beautiful baby boys M.N January 2020 H.N October 2021

I’m writing this as concerned mother and ftm.

LO is born 23.1 almost 10 lb so he is chunky since birth but my concerns are that he didn’t roll over from stomach to back and reverse till he was 4.5 months old.He would come on his hip and go back on back and he done that since he was 20 days old but never went further to roll over completely.

And I saw many baby’s on this app start to crawling but when I put him on stomach he also move his feet like wants to crawl so I would hold his feet and then he would move.I first notice this in April he was almost 3 months old.

He didn’t start grab toys that are above him when he is on play mat until he was almost 4 months old.

And that big first laugh was when he was 3 months old.

I’m just worried is he going behind in development or is this normal. He is babbling, screaming (exploring his vocal strength or what ever is called so he is happy when he does that). He would hold his bottle sometimes,he starts eating solids.

I hope I explained what are my main concerns.

He sounds fine to me. Those milestones are all reached at different times for each baby. Some babies walk at 9 months. Some don’t start walking till 18 months. Its all ok

You should download the wonder weeks app. It cost $2.99. It tells you what milestones your baby should be teaching until their next “leap” sometimes you have 2 months between leaps, and not all babies get them right off the bat. It sounds like he’s right on track, but if you are concerned you should ask your pediatrician. They also should be telling you if he is on track developmentally.

My guy is almost 6 months and still refuses to roll over. He did it a couple of times months ago and will sometimes do it here and there but it’s not a normal thing. He doesn’t babble a ton and laughs occasionally. My first son was walking by 10 months and hit milestones like clock work. But they both have very different personalities and I think that plays a lot in their motor skill development timeline.

Like the other ladies said, babies hit milestones at different times. But if you are concerned, bring it up to your pediatrician at the next appointment. You can also look into developmental exercises for babies. The kinedu app is great for that.

Every baby is different. My little one can roll back to tummy but occasionally rolls tummy to back. Hasn't quite figured that out yet and is not crawling. He will start when he is ready!
