Florida and daycare?

Hi all. I live in FL, which is a major hotspot right now for covid 19, and my daughter has been out of her daycare since April. I am still working full time from home but it's been a struggle. I basically do what I can during the day and then work till midnight after she's asleep. However her daycare is basically telling me she needs to come back Monday or they with withdraw her...unless I want to pay her full weekly tuition to save her spot ($300). I don't necessarily feel comfortable sending her back but I don't know what to do. The waitlist for the daycares in my area can go as long as a year or more. What would you all do? Anyone else in FL?

I say to trust your mom instincts & don't let them pressure you. Whether you can afford to keep the spot is your call, but I would question whether a place that is pushing to open amidst being in a hot infection zone truly has the best care for my child in mind. 
Do the daycare employees feel the same pressure? Are they begrudgingly coming back upon threat of job loss- or with enthusiastic confidence things will be managed safely for them & children? Is the daycare providing you as a parent reassurance & explanation of safety policies & procedures- or are they just saying pay up or you're out? All things to consider.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I decided to withdraw her and just be put back on the waitlist for whenever I feel comfortable for her to return. Turns out I made the right decision because they had a teacher test positive for covid and the school had to be shut down for several days this week!!

I work from home most the time but it was just impossible for me to get any work done with my now 1 year old at home. The second daycare opened back up I sent him back. I’m in Orlando (Orange County). It’s been fine so far. But my husband works all day. It just wasn’t feasible for me to have my son here if I wanted to work. Do what makes you comfortable. I was worried at first but the daycare is definitely taking the proper precautions!

In the town I live a day care had 9 kids test positive including a few babies...do whatever is safe for your family :/ hard times right now

My husband and I work outside of the home. Our jobs are essential and can’t be done at home. I’m in healthcare and live in hotspot area as well. My daughter is 1 and started daycare this week. She’s been walking since 10.5 months and has become to stressful for my mother to have her for such a long time. I work 12 hour shifts. She’s only going 3 days a week. They have implemented precautions. Besides daycare she only goes out for walks or to the pool. You have to do what your comfortable with but as long as the daycare is being careful, sanitizer shoes washing babies hands and wearing masks for teachers I was ok with her starting. We’ll see how it goes.

Hi, so sorry. My husband and I work opposite shifts right now just to keep things going. Our son has never been in daycare we are trying to save money. I suggest if you are uncomfortable now you still will be in a month from now. So maybe make that a basis for your decision. Like how many months would you be willing to pay without sending? Or would you be willing to look into alternative babysitters such as hire a nanny? 
We keep away from others because my husband and I are not quarantined because of our jobs. We provide services to others. So we need to keep our child away from those who are high risk. Makes daycare babysitting and help a challenge.

I dont have any clue where the hot spots are right now. I live in New Port Richey. 
I am sorry I have no advice. I am a SAHM. My husband is a manager of a Walmart in Oldsmar. So, me and my 13 month old dont go out, except to swim in our pool and to go for walks around our neighborhood. We get enough exposure just from him working.
