Madeline was #100 in the US in 2018, but it's more popular than that if you consider and combine other spellings like Madelyn (#72) and a host of others... though of course they could be pronounced differently. The nickname Maddie is used frequently for these names, as well as for Madison (currently #22, but was a top 10 name from 1997-2014). It's very common to me for that reason.
It's a similar situation with Adeline, Adelyn, Adalynn, plus Addison and the soundalike shared nickname Addie, so even if Madeline isn't *technically* super common, it isn't at all distinctive due to similar names and alternate spellings.
