How many bottles?

Hey all you moms with little ones that still remember the baby stage! I am looking at bottles and I'm wondering how many bottles do you like to have? I was thinking 9? We'll have to do dishes, clearly, but I want enough that we're not constantly washing bottles to make one. What's a good number of bottles to have? And is it really necessary to have 4oz AND 8oz bottles or would starting out with 8oz work just as well?

I found it helpful to have 4 oz for the first 3-4 months. If you’re formula feeding & doing daycare, 10+ bottles. I’d take 3-4 a day and skipped dishes some days.

My son took no more than 4 oz at a time until he was weaned. We ebf so breastmilk composition is different than formula. I bought the large bottles and re gifted them later because I didn’t use them. If you plan to formula feed I would definitely want some tho. 
We had more than that, but I feel like that’s plenty if you don’t care to wash daily. 
If it doesn’t work for you then you can buy more when baby is here.

I guess I should add I'm planning to breastfeed at least until I go back to work. My goal is 12weeks but if I'm working from home pumping will be more comfortable and maybe I can go until 4 or 5 months. (Breastfeeding didnt go well with my first so may not work out but I'm going to give it a go)

With my last, we were breastfeeding and she only used bottles while at daycare. She never went over 4 oz at a time so I never got out the 8 oz bottles. We nursed at home though so we only used 3 bottles a day during the week and i had probably nine 4 oz bottles we used.

4oz bottles we had 5, 8oz bottles we had 5. We had to do dishes every day. I am a SAHM if that helps. My girl was solely bottle fed

4oz bottles are easier when they’re little! My babe figured out how to hold it himself pretty early on. We had 5-6 4 oz and we have 4 8oz now. Just switched to sippy cups cause he just turned 1!
