Same letter weird or ok?

Our first child is named Henry. My husband wants to name our second child Hannah if it’s a girl. But I don’t like using the same first letter for siblings. What do you think? I also don’t want to be stuck using an H name if we decided to have more kids.

I don’t understand why people think that if the first two kids’ names start with the same letter, they have to stick with that letter for any future kids. Who made that a rule?

I don't think I would. I think I'd feel pressured to keep using the same letter for future children. But then again, maybe if I was really in love with the name, I might still do it. And two of my children (and my husband) all have middle names that start with E and I didn't feel pressured to give my third son an E middle name.

My mom named me and my sister both with “R.” I always said I would never do it...
My first two kids both start with “A.” It was totally an accident, but now people expect us to name this baby with “A.” They are in for a surprise since we are going with “Z.” 😂

If you don’t like it, then don’t do it. He can come to like more than just this one name. It shouldn’t be his first choice or nothing, and you get no say.

I think two kids with H names could be a nice coincidence, but three would be a pattern. It'd be fine to have, say, Henry, Hannah, and Olivia (or whatever non-H name you'd give a third child).

I don’t see anything wrong with same letter names. My uncle has 5 kids all with J names. His daughters continued and he now has 5 grandchildren with J names also.

Personally I hate the trend and wouldn't do it myself. If you like another name and have more kids down the road then it's like why we're they left out/more special/less special than the others type stuff and it's just too matchy for my taste.

Same boat! My husbands family is huge on same initials for all children 🥴 Our son’s name starts with an E and this go around, my fave girl name also starts with an E but could be switched for an A. I am torn. But I say if you love the name, then do it!
