6 month not sleeping thru?

Anyone else 6 month old not sleeping thru? Mine has never even come close. He goes to bed around 6pm eats at 9:30-12-2-5. Up for good around 6:30. Is this crazy at 6 months to still be up so gosh darn much??

Growth spurt? Interrupted sleep due to developmental leap, sleep regressions and/or teething? Hang in there! On same page with my little girl, she’ll be 6 mos next week, we’re still in survival mode, can’t wait til this eases so I can rest better which will improve my caregiving abilities. Good luck!

Yup! My 6 month old goes down at 7:30pm, he gets up for a bottle usually around 1:30am drinks the whole thing and sleeps til about 6am. Some moms have let them cry it out but my son finishes his whole bottle so I know he’s hungry. My hubby and I take turns feeding him so it’s not so bad , he drinks a bottle and goes right back to sleep. My 3.5 year old wakes up more than him 🙄😂

I am with you! My baby is 6 months and he has similar night schedule like yours. His older sister slept thru the night at 5 months, but for him it seems impossible to do that. I am thankful if he sleeps 4-5 hrs straight.

my baby just made 6mo on the 9th... definitely NOT sleeping thru 😔
on average he goes to bed between 8-830. i think he’s got teething symptoms although no teeth yet.. he wakes up crying (and i cant just pat him back to sleep) at least twice before midnight. recently i’ve been able to carry him & get him back to sleep fairly quickly. but he also has a big crying wake up between 3a-430a.. those i usually need to feed him for cuz he WILL NOT calm down with just carrying & rocking..
in previous weeks, his early morning wake up would be a good scream-crying, then i’d feed him which would put him in a good enough mood to think it’s play time for up to 2 hours sometimes! 😑
i’m now trying to only do an early morning feed, if its been over 8 hours since his dinner, in my attempts to knock out his night time feeds...  did i also mention he’s exclusively breast fed so i’ve been the only one waking up to take care of him overnight for the past 6 months... 😞  
i just hate hearing his sad cries & i obviously cant just sleep thru it..my body literally runs on iced coffee & water most days..

When he wakes, is he just fussing or full-on crying? Is he eating during those wakeups?

My baby was like this starting at about 4 months and now 2 weeks until he’s 6 months and the past 4 nights he’s slept completely through the night! From 9-730. So hopefully it won’t be lasting to much longer for you. If your baby is at a good weight I would honestly just try to put them back to bed without feeding and get him in the rhythm of not eating throughout the night. That’s what I did with my baby and it’s wonderful! And really get all the calories he needs in during the day! He’s started to cluster feed a little more and eating about every 2 hours instead of 3 but it’s so worth it!

My 5 year old didn’t sleep through the night until she was 18 months my now 6 month old doesn’t sleep through the night either, max he sleeps 4 hours before he wants a boob again

My baby still wakes up once per night to eat between 12-2 depending on the night. My doctor said at this age they are capable of going through the night (unless there is a medical condition or low weight). My baby is in the 15th percentile so I like her to get that extra night feed but my doctor said I could wean it if I wanted. Is your baby eating every 2.5-3.5 hours during the day? I think you could start weaning those night feedings out, your LO might be getting up that often out of habit rather than actually being hungry.

Have you started weaning? My doctor said it’s a good indication that babies are ready for solids as milk isn’t satisfying enough anymore

My daughter part feed us at 7.30-8pm sleeps till 7-8am she’s just over 6 months she’s on solids now so she doesn’t get hungry during the night
