Ladies,

I need help finding the right words. My fiancé’s mother passed away when he was a teenager and he has a stepmom who he is not terribly close to. At the wedding he first decided not to do a mother son dance but then changed his mind. Now he is planning to dance with his stepmom and then his grandma.

We just don’t know how to announce the dance. It’s important to him that we don’t call his step mom “mom” because he wants to honor his mom who passed. He also wants to have his mom mentioned somehow as well. We just can’t seem to get the words right though.... any suggestions?
