Can I put lotion on a newborn?

Two weeks old. Dry peeling skin?

I waited for all of that newborn peeling to finish before I put lotion on him regularly. That’s what our pediatrician said to do.

My doctor said not to during the newborn peeling. But my baby’s skin started cracking and getting really red and sore so she advised aquaphor in the particularly bad areas. Once she was done peeling I put aveeno on her every night before bed. We do a little baby massage and my kid loves it.

You can, but the dry and peeling skin is normal for newborns. We put lotion on baby only after a bath before bedtime as a massage. And its always the most gentle stuff possible.

There are baby lotions. They don’t have the additives that can irritate babies skin
