Should we talk about where our relationship is?

This relationship is my first “adult relationship” and I’m a little confused lol. A guy asked me out on a date and we’ve been going on dates and seeing each other for 5 months now. But we’ve never said boyfriend/girlfriend or said we’re in a relationship. Is this a conversation we should have? What is typical? Do people just start saying they’re in a relationship or is that something the couple talks about? He isn’t seeing anyone else and neither am I.

Talk to him. I asked my now fiancé like a month in what we were lol. Mind you, we were friends first so we already knew each other well and were really close, he’d already said he loved me, etc. So I was pretty sure but I wanted to make sure we were exclusive. When I asked, he told me he thought we already were. Turns out he’d never actually asked anyone to be his girlfriend (he was 24 at this point). His last serious girlfriend he said had introduced him as her boyfriend at a party so they never actually established it. I’d casually dated people before but never seriously. So he decided he wanted to actually ask. I thought he was going to ask right there, but instead he waited a month and a half and made it really sweet and special 💙 anyways, sorry for the long story, but just have a conversation. He might already think you are bf/gf or be nervous to bring it up.
