Does anyone have pre menstrual dysphoric disorder?? “PMDD”

I get so depressed a week before my period and it is crippling. But like a couple days into my period i’m fine besides the regular period pains. Anyone else struggle with this?🥺

I have PMDD and it has severely messed with my depression (which I have on top of PMDD). My depression and mood swings would even happen a week or two before my period, during my period, and the week after. I was lucky if I had one week a month that I felt ok and I have been like this for 7+ years. It is a very difficult thing to get a handle on so I highly encourage you to ask for help if you think you have it. 
I don't know if I totally recommend this because of the side effects but my doctor put me on Yaz because it is (as far as I can find) the only recommend hormonal birth control that helps with PMDD. It was honestly a night and day difference when I went on it. I did get the weight gain, cravings, and difficulty losing weight that hormonal bc causes (and it can be a lot worse for others) but my brain and my mood hasn't been this good in a long time. 
Definitely talk with your doctor and get the help you deserve!

I’ve not been officially diagnosed-as I’m past due for all of my medical appointments- however, I’ve talked to my therapist about this and I’m pretty sure that yes, I also have it. There are several reasons I believe I have it—and I don’t think I’ve always had it either. I’m 37 and have maybe just realized I am experiencing the symptoms of PMDD within the last 5 years, but it’s really, truly awful & once Covid is under control in my area, I’m definitely going to get checked out bigtime! It’s a miserable way to live about 1/3rd of the time.

My friend does. She seems like a completely  different person tge week before her period then once she gets it she goes back to normal. She has recently found a birth control that helps with pmdd and has been doing wonderful since starting  it. No more mood swings  or depression  or suicidal feelings.
