HCG dropped my experience

Alicia

I thought I would share my experience for anyone that winds up in a similar situation in the future. At 5 weeks I started spotting and assumed it was normal but 3 days later it got worse. 5w4d I went to the Dr and she ordered labs. This was July 1st I went and got them done and was 13,658.0. Unfortunately on July 3 when I went back for my 48 hour that lab was closed for the holiday weekend. I went to a second lab. At this point my provider had just moved into a new office and they were terrible at providing me the results. I had to wait a week before they called me back finally and told me my 2nd draw was 13,601.0. I was so nervous and even told the nurse that I was afraid of that and my symptoms had gone. She told me I would hear from the dr but 2 days later I still hadn’t so I switched providers. The next Dr got me in that day for an ultrasound but I wasn’t hopeful. Then he started pointing out the fetal pole to me, which was not there at my 1st ultrasound and he even mentioned he thought he saw a heartbeat. He kept checking to be sure bc he admitted himself that he was not expecting to see that with my HCG dropping. The thing I’m left with is I sure wish I didn’t have to use 2 different labs. I know they say they can be different, but the results were so close and with my bleeding I had expected it somewhat to drop. My HCG with the 1st lab is now over 60,000 and Dr is still continuing to watch close.
