Help!!! HSV2
I was recently diagnosed with HSV2 (June 13). It started off itching for a month or so and then once I started my period, it started hurting. I was also getting bad fevers. I have a very high pain tolerance, but after a couple of days I was COVERED in lesions. I cried when I peed. I purposely tried not to drink because it hurt so bad. I could barely even walk at all. And I couldn’t sit down all of the way. I had to go to the ER and that’s where they tested me. (While I was on my period. Embarrassing!) I’m very new to this. Since that outbreak I have not been to a dr (I’m going to soon) I’m scared and concerned. I was wondering if anyone could answer these questions or share stories relating to this. Because that was the worst pain I’ve felt in my life. They put me on anti viral medicine for 10 days and that helped a lot. I need to go get a permanent prescription. It scares me a lot that that can happen again and I won’t have the medicine to help me.
1) I know everyone is different but how often do you personally get outbreaks? And do they get better after the first outbreak or stay the same?
2) If you don’t take anti viral medicine, will the outbreak go away naturally? Or do you need that for them to go away? If you don’t- in your experience, how long did the outbreak take to go away?
3) What are some ways to help ease the pain when you’re having a painful outbreak? I personally found that putting fragrance free baby wipes in the fridge and using those when you use the bathroom help a lot.
4) Does anyone use any natural remedies or over the counter medicine to help the outbreaks go away?
If you have any other advice please let me know!! Or even questions and answers that I may not have thought of.
