This is my first miscarriage(7w3d), third pregnancy. I have 2 wonderful kiddies already.

I started out with some spotting on Monday with back pains, I ended up passing 1 clot that day and went in and seen my doctor to get his thoughts. He believed I was passing a clot they had seen on my scan at 5w5d. Was sent home to rest with a scan in a weeks time. I woke up yesterday to extreme pains in my uterus and back, legit felt like I was in labour, my bleeding was still spotting at this stage but soon later progressed to a period like bleed so I went straight up to the hospital. They thought for a bit I was having an ectopic with a 2nd baby, this was debunked though. I had a scan which showed I had lost the baby. Somehow, the technicians wrote this down I had passed everything and my uterus was now empty. However the gyno ended up coming in and was able to point out a very clear sac which has not passed. They’ve given me 2 weeks to pass it on my own before they do a d&c.

Is 2 weeks the usual time for this? I thought they would have done it straight away so I wouldn’t have to suffer through this pain.

And how extreme can I expect the pains to get, should I be feeling like I’m having contractions?
