2nd baby

Is anyone really ever ready for a second baby? I’m told it’s normal that I feel so back and forth. I know I want my son to have a sibling close in age, but I’m scared to have two babies! If i got pregnant right now, my son would be 2.5. When will I know that I’m for sure ready to start trying? My husband wants another, and told me whenever I want another is when we will start trying. One day I want another, the next day I feel like I wouldn’t be able to handle it. Advice?
