How often do you have a cheat meal?

I’ve been on the diet plan for the GD for a month and a half now. I have yet to have a cheat meal. I’m thinking for dinner I’m going to order dominos, but at the same time I feel guilty. My numbers are well controlled and I’m not on medication. I’m just concerned with how high my number will go.

I haven’t had a cheat day yet and I’ve been diet controlled for a month almost now. My sons 2nd birthday party is this weekend with close family only so obviously I’m going to watch what I eat (no bun cheese burger, lots of veggies, etc), but also have a little snack here and there. You can bet though I’m saving room for that birthday cake lol. After that I plan to just follow my diet I’ve been doing and not have another cheat day again until baby girl is born.

I’m 13 weeks postpartum now with a beautiful healthy boy. I had gdm during my pregnancy and while I would have a cheat “bite” here and there just to taste things, I never gave myself a cheat meal. However, sometimes I would eat something thinking it would be okay but it would have a lot of hidden sugars. Just keep in mind that once your blood sugar spikes, it could also affect subsequent numbers for the rest of the day or two. With that said I think cheat meals are okay as long as you don’t go too crazy. I would get in a lot of exercise that day and also you would know when your numbers are usually lowest and I would try to pair the cheat meal with a lot of protein/fiber. For me, I would never do a cheat bfast because morning numbers were always a bit higher than say dinner. Good luck!

I’ve had 2 cheat meals in the last 4weeks. Both of which were McDonald’s 😅 and surprisingly didn’t make my sugar crazy but I know I can’t do that often.

I don’t have any cheat days, purely because I also have an issue with my gallbladder and I’d be in severe pain if I had a cheat day aha.

I started having cheat meals/food because my doctor gave my permission. I would say one every 2 weeks. Sometimes less time between but I try to keep it 2 weeks apart.

I had two cheat meals the weekend of the 4th of July and actually my after dinner numbers weren’t bad at all. Not like I was thinking they were going to be. But I also made sure to get extra walking in. After my cheat meal one number was 132 and the other was 137.
