Is it okay if you don't like kids but still want to be a parent?

I'm not a fan of kids. I'm not excited about being pregnant either. But I love the idea of having children with my partner, especially since he's really intelligent and handsome and I'd like to have more people in the world like him.

Based on your reasoning, yes it's bad. Most people dont say they want a kid to make more intelligent handsome people in the world. What if your child has down syndrome and doesnt have the typical handsomeness and intelligence you are oh so hoping for, will you hate your kid?

I've never been a fan of kids. They annoy the hell outta me lol. To the point I never wanted to become a mum. But one day it clicked that I wanted my own children. I now have 2 under 2 and the love is so powerful. However i still cant stand other peoples kids. Im dreading the day they come home from school asking for their friends to come over 😂

I’m curious as to why you want to have children if you dislike them? I would wait until you are ready as babies can be really over whelming especially if you don’t like kids in the first place x

I mean that’s a hard one. There are a lot of people who don’t like kids but end up in a situation with their own and they love them and don’t have the same feelings toward their own kids that they do others. But then there’s also people who love other people’s kids and just can’t handle their own/they’re not cut out for it. 
It’s hard to say. Just think long and hard if you’re really in it for the long haul to have kids. It’s hard to say really since everyone is so different but personally if I had a strong aversion to other people’s kids I wouldn’t go out and purposely get pregnant but that’s my personal feelings. Because if I don’t like dealing with someone else’s kids then I don’t think having one around 24/7 is going to change that lol.

I've never liked other peoples kids. Not even babies. I find them gross, drooly, snotty and loud. But i love my own! Even though they're unpleasant sometimes 😅

Well, I mean, I can’t stand other people’s kids lol. I avoid them like a plague. But I love my own to death.
I never thought I’d even have kids as I was focusing on traveling and my career. Until I found myself pregnant by a guy who thought it would be fun to take off the condom before cuming. Fun times. My life did a complete 180 turn. I’m now pregnant with my third (second with my partner). Who never actually wanted kids either and now he wants 4 lol. But he still hates other people’s kids

I like kids and they are cute. My sister is not a big fan of kids yet she absolutely loves my son as her nephew and she actually thinks about having a child of her own one day so there’s nothing wrong with that but how you worded your reason is a bit weird though. But hey, its your life so do you.
